:bulletblack: WARNING :bulletblack:
This comic, along with any future sequels, is set in an alternate universe where Amon is who he said he was in the first place: a scarred revolutionary with powers bestowed upon him by spirits. It's a trippy, creepy variant I would like to keep on exploring. :la:

FINALLY, PART 2, WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE JUST PART 2, BUT I HAD TO SPLIT IN IN TWO BECAUSE IT WAS TOO LONG. D: PART 3: [link]

This is probably the most epic work I've done. And by epic, I mean that it literally took control of my life. It took WAY too long. D:

The thing that inspired me most for the explanation of Amon's powers is this thing, on the light chakra and illusion: [link]
Even before the season finale's cheap bloodbending explanation, it just seemed to me as the obvious answer to the mystery surrounding Amon's equalizing skills. And then you have the symbolism behind the red sun on his mask. The forehead. Where he touches people to take away their bending. Duh! It seemed so befitting, so I was bummed when they made nothing of it.

Speaking of symbolism, I filled this comic with it. I won't give it all away though. I like to hide little tidbits here and there, for the detectives out there. Let's just say that nothing is random. An example: Notice Tao and Amon's belts. Their colours represent the element that's opposite to them. In Amon's case (he's from the firenation in this version), his belt is blue, representing the water tribe. In Tao's case (he's from the Earth Kingdom), it's blue, representing the Air Nomads. Ying Yang, babeh. ;) Oh, and the colours just happened to look fabulous together!!

Gawh, I loved drawing Tao's hair. But it was a pain in the @$$ to colour.
I felt the need to give Amon a different outfit, because nobody wears the same clothes all their life, right? Except for Tao, but he doesn't count because he's insane. The idea was to have an outfit that somewhat suggested that of a pilgrim's, as opposed to that of a warrior.

The skills I gave Amon are no accident. They are meant to explain (hopefully well enough) everything he's done during the season. I'll let you guys figure that out on your own.

Anyways, that's all for now. More comments on the next page I guess.

While your LoK art is one of the best I seen till now, I'm still a little confused how a world so used to its own spiritual side would reject a man like Tao. Or is it because that, save for the Avatar, the Spirits are particulary mischievous or evil?
